When our Lord
Jesus Christ dwelt on earth as a man, he was God-incarnate and the Word. He was
the Son of God — Jehovah in the flesh.
Through our
faith in him and in his atoning death and resurrection, a glorious union of God
and man is effected: God’s Spirit dwells within us.
God-filled
people are fused and blended into union with him. A sweet intimacy results from
this union. The same quality of relationship that Jesus himself enjoyed with
the Father is available to us as redeemed believers.
As we develop a consciousness
of Christ within us, we become increasingly like him. We resemble Jesus as his
Spirit shines through us. Our very nature and personality become like him as he
works in us and transforms us into his likeness. God oozes through us by our
words, actions, and personalities.
Believers that
are awakened to the consciousness of Christ within, begin to live in dominion
and power in this life, subduing our world to the will of God as revealed in
the Scriptures.
We live our
lives in his name — like God would have lived it had he been in our place. We
become the instruments through whom he functions in our world.
